Tirana buzzes with revolt, thousands of citizens march non-stop

Cheers, red and black flags, car horns and calls for a "New Albania". The tenth day protest is turning into one of the longest and largest mobilizations in recent years...

For more than four hours, the streets of Tirana have continued to be filled with the sound of protesters marching non-stop through the capital. What began as a gathering in Skanderbeg Square and then in front of the Prime Minister's Office has once again transformed into a long march that is crossing the main axes of the city, while the crowd is showing no signs of fatigue.

From one boulevard to another, from one neighborhood to another, the same calls that have accompanied the protest for days are heard repeatedly. "Rama go away", "New Albania", "The homeland is not for sale", "We want justice", "Join us" and "Revolution" are the slogans that are chanted on the streets of the capital.

But the protest is not only taking place among those walking in the march.

In many segments of the route, citizens on sidewalks, in cafes, or on apartment balconies greet the protesters, while drivers stop for a few moments and honk their horns in a sign of support.

From time to time, the sound of horns joins the cheers of the crowd, creating the atmosphere of an entire city living the rhythm of protest.

At the head of the march, young people continue to dominate, while behind them walk families, students, pensioners, and citizens of different ages, united under the red and black flags that are seen everywhere along the streets of Tirana.

Unlike classic political protests, these days' march has taken on the appearance of a civic movement that is constantly expanding its base, as random passersby and citizens who follow it closely decide to join the crowd along the way.

As the evening progresses, one thing seems clear: Tirana continues to buzz with protest.

And as thousands of citizens continue the march for hours, the cry most often heard on the streets of the capital remains the same: "New Albania!"
