The DP MP, former judge of the poplars and symbol of corruption in the judiciary, holds SPAK accountable for investigations into criminal groups, while his nephew is in prison as part of a drug and murder gang...
In the Parliamentary Laws Committee, DP MP Gjin Gjoni, the former judge of the poplars, a symbol of corruption and money laundering, drew the attention of SPAK leader Altin Dumani not to "abuse" the creation of structured criminal groups.
An ironic statement that would have been right, if it were not a pure provocation against justice by a man with dark files in every link of the system where he has served.
In fact, SPAK has investigated and brought to justice several criminal groups at home and abroad, proving the charges against them in cooperation with international partners.
But it is equally true that SPAK has not dared to touch several other powerful groups, which are protected by the dome of politics, power and justice, a fact that any MP with integrity should have emphasized, but not Gjin Gjoni, who is himself part of the problem.
The reason for his intervention was not related to “abuse of justice”, but to a pure conflict of interest. One of the criminal groups hit by SPAK included Dedan Gjoni, his nephew, the son of his brother.
The latter, acting as Chief of Crimes at Police Station No. 6 in Tirana, was arrested on November 21, 2023 as one of the leaders of the structured criminal group “Breçani–Mata”, accused of drug trafficking, debunking of actions and providing means for contract killings.
His name appeared again in another group hit in Elbasan on November 25, 2024, for which a second measure of arrest with imprisonment was given.
Beyond the family connection, Gjin Gjoni has hidden this fact in the decriminalization form, although the law obliges him to declare every relationship up to the fourth degree of family, including spouse, children, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces or in-laws.
Thus, the former judge who has built a staggering fortune in Albania and abroad, has committed yet another series of abuses of the law; this time as a member of the Albanian Parliament.
Neither the CEC nor the General Prosecutor's Office have opened an investigation into this flagrant violation, although it constitutes a criminal offense.
Meanwhile, this publicly discredited person, who has himself been the subject of corruption investigations, today maintains the status of a lawmaker and seeks to lecture the judiciary.
This is the clearest view of the degradation of the Albanian Parliament, which has reached the point where Gjin Gjoni, the former judge of the poplars and symbol of the old justice system, preaches about integrity, European laws and the fight against corruption.
A political and moral absurdity that shows that in this country, crime is no longer on the streets, it is sitting in the Assembly./ Pamphlet
