Artist Robert Aliaj has called on Albanians to join the protests against Prime Minister Edi Rama's government and the political class, stating that patriotism is not measured by symbols or slogans, but by civic engagement.
Through a video published on social networks, Aliaj addressed those who, according to him, display patriotism in stadiums or concerts, asking them why they do not react when the country, according to him, is in difficulty.
"Where are you patriots of stadiums and concerts? You with tattoos of Greater Albania who scream hysterically. But when the homeland burns, why do you cower like mice?" Aliaj says in his message.
The artist emphasizes that true patriotism is not related to songs or symbolism, but to the willingness to protect the public interest and react to the country's problems.
"Move, do something for once in your life. Protest. True patriotism means loyalty, being sworn to something bigger than yourself," he declares.
"Where are you patriots of stadiums and loud concerts, you with tattoos of a greater Albania who scream hysterically. But when the homeland burns, why do you cower like mice? When you are unable to protect your child, you do not deserve it. You disposable patriot, who castrated you?
True patriotism is not the song of the drunkard that explodes from the windows of luxury cars with income from prostitution and drugs, It is not the insincere songs about the Albanians that you have exterminated to eat or embalm, nor drugs, nor criminality, nor corruption. Noooooo, it is not patriotism.
True patriotism costs something, gentlemen. It costs more than freedom. So get moving, do something for once in your life. Protest. True patriotism means loyalty, being sworn to something greater than yourself.
"A true patriot is one who loves life, is free in space, does not bargain, does not steal his country, does not steal his vote, nor does he sell it. The refrain of true patriotism is not "How good it is to be Albanian". True patriotism is the ritual of one who stands up when the homeland is in danger," he emphasizes.
