The security situation in the Middle East has deteriorated significantly following new Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon and direct threats from Iran of a military response if Israel expands its operations towards the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Iranian authorities have warned that they will take action against northern Israel if Israeli attacks affect Beirut. Iran's central military command called on residents of northern areas of Israel to leave to avoid the risk of injury in the event of a possible escalation.

Tensions rose after Israel's prime minister announced he had authorized new strikes against targets in the Lebanese capital. The Israeli military then issued evacuation orders for residents of Beirut's southern suburbs, areas considered Hezbollah strongholds.

Iranian warnings were reinforced by statements from Mohsen Rezaei, an adviser to Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. In a post on social media, Rezaei declared that Tehran would not tolerate further escalation in Lebanon and that "the patience of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has its limits."

He also stressed that the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil transportation routes, remains under Iran's control and management, hinting that the country could use this strategic card in the event of an escalation of the crisis.

At the same time, Iranian media reports indicate that Tehran has suspended diplomatic contacts with the United States. The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Iranian negotiators would stop talks and exchange messages through intermediaries, linking the decision to the continuation of Israeli military operations.

According to the same report, Iran has also warned that it may reconsider any existing ceasefire if Israel does not stop the attacks. The agency added that Iranian authorities have taken steps to completely block the Strait of Hormuz and that the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean, could also become a target of future actions.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump stated that he had not received any official notification from Iran regarding reports of the suspension of talks.

"I haven't heard anything from Iran about that. It's an appropriate thing to say, because they're better negotiators than fighters. That doesn't mean we're going to go and start dropping bombs everywhere ," Trump said in a statement to NBC News.

The American president added that, in his opinion, the parties have communicated sufficiently so far and that "silence would be very good."

Recent developments have heightened international concerns about an expansion of the conflict beyond the borders of Lebanon and Israel. Analysts estimate that any direct involvement by Iran or disruption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz could have significant consequences for regional security and global energy markets.
