Israeli attacks in Lebanon nullify progress in talks, Tehran threatens to end

After halting the negotiation process with the US, Tehran has threatened that the current ceasefire could be broken if Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon.

Iranian state television reported that the probability of the US-Iran ceasefire ending is high if attacks on Lebanon do not stop, but did not provide further details.

Both Tehran and Washington have accused each other of violating the ceasefire since it began. The two countries had been working on a proposed deal to extend a ceasefire, which was first announced in early April.

Recall that earlier, Iran's negotiating team decided to stop exchanging messages with the United States through intermediaries, in response to the Israeli offensive in Lebanon, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Monday.

According to the agency's sources, Iran considers the situation in Lebanon to be "essential" for any ceasefire agreement.

"This ceasefire has been violated on all fronts, including Lebanon. No dialogue will take place until a common view is reached between Iran and Hezbollah on this issue," the Tasnim report said.

Tehran demands an immediate halt to the Israeli offensive in Lebanon and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the occupied areas. According to Iranian sources, without the fulfillment of these conditions, any attempt at mediation or indirect talks with Washington will remain suspended.
