The US-Iran deal has entered its final stages. US President Donald Trump has stated that he will meet with his cabinet in the Situation Room to make a final decision, signaling that the US is ready to sign the agreement.
In a statement on the social network "TruthSocial", Trump stated that under the agreement that America seeks, Iran should never have nuclear weapons. It is also said that the Strait of Hormuz should be opened immediately after the agreement is reached and without any fees for ships passing through.
Trump also added that the mines placed in Hormuz will be removed by Iran itself, making the path clear for the blocked ships to pass through.
As for Iran's enriched uranium, which remains buried in bunkers attacked by the US 11 months ago, Trump said it will be destroyed. He stressed that only China and the US have the necessary capacity to do so.
Trump stressed that the US, China, the IAEA and Iran will cooperate to eliminate nuclear dust. The US has promised Iran money for this process, but Trump stressed that not a single penny will go into Tehran's accounts until a second moment. The US president added that they have also agreed on some other things, but that according to him are insignificant.
“ Iran must agree that it will never have a nuclear weapon or bomb. The Strait of Hormuz must be opened immediately, toll-free, to unrestricted maritime traffic, in both directions. All underwater mines (bombs), if any, will be destroyed (we have removed, by detonation, many such mines with our excellent underwater mines. The enriched material, sometimes called “Nuclear Dust,” which is buried deep underground with mountains of virtually collapsed material, caused by our powerful B2 bomber strike 11 months ago, placed on top of it, will be discovered by the United States (which, it is agreed, is the only country, along with China, with the mechanical capability to do so!), in close coordination and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, plus the International Atomic Energy Agency, and will be DESTROYED. No money will be exchanged, until further notice. Other items of much lesser importance have been agreed upon. I will meet now, in the Situation Room, to make a final decision. It now remains to be seen whether Trump will sign the much-discussed agreement these days and whether it will be accepted by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, to end the crisis in the Middle East once and for all.
