Against the death penalty in Iran, 1,500 prisoners on hunger strike; footage

We call on all people, all those who hear our voices and all prisoners to support us prisoners sentenced to death by any means possible...

The hunger strike of 1,500 prisoners sentenced to death in Ward 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison has entered its third day. Political prisoners in Evin and Ghezel Hesar have joined the hunger strike, as have prisoners in Wards 1 and 4 of Ghezel Hesar, who have expressed solidarity with them.

A video provided by Pamfleti shows how the prisoners carry out their strike, while among the prisoners are also children.

They sit in the long corridors of the prison and demand the abolition of the death penalty in Iran.

"We, a group of striking prisoners in Ward 2 of Ghezel Hesar, demand the abolition of the death penalty in Iran."

We call on all people, all those who hear our voices and all prisoners to support us prisoners sentenced to death by any means possible. Our only refuge is you, the beloved people of Iran. Execution is not our right and prison is not our place. Raise your voices. Gather in front of the prisons and do not let them execute the prisoners,” is the message conveyed by the prisoners.

The protest at Ghezel Hesar prison in the city of Karaj outside Tehran was sparked by the transfer of up to 16 prisoners to solitary confinement ahead of execution, the Norway-based Human Rights Agency in Iran (IHR) and the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said in separate statements.

Meanwhile, the Iranian regime has attempted to squelch the hunger strike of 1,500 prisoners by showing staged footage showing prisoners in Ward 3 eating food.

"A fabricated video circulated by all hostile media outlets shows a hall in one of the wards of Ghezel Hesar where several prisoners are sitting on the floor outside their rooms, and an individual claims that these prisoners are on a hunger strike in protest against the execution of other prisoners," an official response from the Iranian regime said.

Meanwhile, Khamenei's executioners continue their ruthless killing of prisoners. Between October 13 and 15, at least 38 prisoners were executed, meaning the regime has taken a human life every less than two hours over the past three days, something unprecedented not only in the 21st century.

According to reports received by the afternoon of October 15, 12 prisoners were executed.

On Tuesday, October 14, 16 prisoners were hanged, while on Monday, October 13, another 10 prisoners were executed.

Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, drew the attention of the international community to the hunger strike and the fate of 1,500 prisoners sentenced to death in Ghezel Hesar prison. She called for the immediate intervention of the United Nations, member states of the Security Council, the European Union, and human rights advocates to end this terrible nightmare in Iran under the rule of the criminal mullahs.

Iran is the world's second-largest executioner after China, which is believed to execute thousands of people each year, although there are no exact figures, human rights groups say.

Mizan, the official media outlet of the Judiciary, confirmed the execution of three of the prisoners, which it described as "three key members of the terror gang," claiming they were involved in violent house robberies and robberies in Tehran and several other cities.

Mizan further stated that the three were arrested in Shahriar, Savojbolagh and Khorramabad districts, claiming that they confessed to their crimes during interrogation and were identified by the complainants. /Pamphlet/
