A serious incident has shaken the Nea Peramos area, two days ago, after the body of a 27-year-old businessman was discovered in a stream near the Holy Trinity Monastery. The victim was reported missing after being kidnapped outside his apartment in Elefsina, in the early hours of last Monday.
According to preliminary investigation data, the perpetrators took the young man to an isolated location, where they executed him with at least seven bullets. They then allegedly tried to set fire to his body to cover up the crime, but without success.
But according to Greek media, the orderer is said to have been present at the torture and execution and is believed to be an Albanian citizen.
Manolis V. was known to the authorities, not for his criminal past, but for his circle of contacts. The Homicide Department has put his relationship with an Albanian citizen, who lost his life in a traffic accident, under the microscope.
Police officers speak of a domino chain of events, where personal disagreements, high-risk contacts and unpaid bills seem to intersect.
The investigation is at its peak, with authorities trying to map out the web of relationships surrounding the victim.
