A previously unknown video, allegedly secretly recorded by Jeffrey Epstein while he was in custody, has recently been made public in documents released by the United States Department of Justice.
As in previous cases, US authorities have released the material without any explanatory context, not clarifying the circumstances of the recording, the time or how the video was made and stored. However, based on the footage, the environment and Epstein's clothing, it is suspected that the video message was addressed to two yet unidentified women and that it was recorded secretly inside the detention facilities.
In the released footage, Epstein is seen speaking directly to the camera, making personal references that suggest a private communication. He also mentions an attempted kiss, which he describes as "disgusting," without providing further details about the person or the circumstances of the incident.
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2019 on serious charges of sex trafficking of minors and died in custody, in circumstances that were officially ruled a suicide, but which continue to be the subject of debate and suspicion. Each new document released in connection with the Epstein case continues to attract great public and media attention in the US and beyond.
