Operation "Baza" led to the seizure of 4 pistols, a Kalashnikov, a shotgun, hundreds of cartridges and other combat ammunition.
A weapons and ammunition base, which according to the Police is suspected of being used to supply criminal groups, was discovered in Manzë, Durrës during the police operation codenamed "Baza".
The operation was carried out by the services of the Manzë Police Station, in collaboration with the operational structures of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, leading to the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen EP, 20 years old, resident of Manzë.
During the search of the young man's apartment, the police found and seized an arsenal of weapons and ammunition. According to the official announcement, 4 pistols, a model 56 automatic weapon (Kalashnikov), a shotgun, 6 combs, hundreds of live ammunition of various calibers, an Italian vehicle license plate and a mobile phone were seized.
According to the Police, the discovered base is suspected of serving as a weapons supply for criminal groups. For this reason, all seized weapons will be subjected to expert examination at the Institute of Scientific Police, to verify whether they were used in previous criminal events.
Investigations continue to identify and hold accountable other persons who may be involved in this criminal activity.
The 20-year-old is charged with the criminal offenses "Unlicensed production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons".
