Former police chief Arben Hajdarmataj says that the perpetrator of the massacre with two victims and two injured in Shkodra, Ragip Gila, should be prosecuted even after his release from prison.
In an interview with "Newsline", Hajdarmataj said that Gila should be checked on who he was associating with. He further added that the police should prevent such criminal events.
"We have a situation in Shkodra, we have several rival groups. It has been going on for years, we allude that we have two rival groups with each other. We have a suspected perpetrator who has a criminal past. But this requires another analysis. We have a person who has been in prison. This person must be followed continuously, with proactive methods. Followed with information, what activity he has, who he associates with. That arsenal of weapons, not to be caught after the event, but to be caught before the event. A crime should have been prevented. That is why there is the police. The police must prevent it. I evaluate it positively, and the chance of those who were caught, collided with a vehicle. From the investigation tracks, I think that the prosecution is well focused, because in these types of attacks, there is not only one person. There must be two other people," Hajdarmataj emphasized.
