A citizen has spoken out at the protest held in Tirana, responding to statements by Prime Minister Rama. The latter had previously described the protesters as "animals" who are demanding his removal from power.
In her speech to the rally participants, she stated that citizens have gathered to demand responsibility, justice and respect for their rights, describing the protest as an expression of democratic will.
"Today we are citizens united. We are here to raise our voices, to demand responsibility, justice and respect for the rights of every citizen. When the voice of one person can be disregarded, the voice of a people cannot be ignored," the citizen declared.
Referring to the prime minister's comments towards the protesters, the young woman reacted in harsh tones, demanding his resignation.
"Did you hear the prime minister who called us animals? When a prime minister chooses to insult protesting citizens, instead of listening to their concerns, let me say to him: 'Animal, where are you? Resign as soon as possible,'" she said.
Following her speech, the citizen demanded the departure from politics of both Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
"Resign as soon as possible and take your fellow traveler, Sali Berisha. Rama in prison, Berisha in prison," she added amid applause from protest participants.
According to her, change can only come if citizens refuse to remain silent in the face of injustice and continue to seek a better future for the country.

This protest is an expression of our democratic, free will and the belief that change comes when citizens refuse to remain silent in the face of injustice. Let us stand united, resolute, because the future is built by those who have the courage to seek a better place for all.
