At the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, a closed-door hearing is being held to assess the legality of the detention and the imposition of a security measure against citizen Petri Bozo, who is under investigation for the tragic accident in which the 7-year-old boy with the initials ES lost his life. The incident occurred in the village of Mengël in Elbasan.
The prosecution is represented at the hearing by prosecutor Adnan Hoxha, who has requested the court to consider the detention of the person under investigation lawful and to impose the personal security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, based on Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
According to the prosecution, there are reasonable suspicions linking Petri Bozo to the fatal accident that shocked public opinion in Elbasan and beyond, where a 7-year-old child lost his life.
The event has brought numerous reactions from the Elbasan community and has brought attention back to the issue of road safety in the Mengli area, as well as to respecting traffic rules.
During the hearing, the parties' arguments were presented, while the court is reviewing the evidence and preliminary circumstances of the case to make a decision on the Prosecution's request.
At the end of the session, the court is expected to announce the decision on the security measure against Petri Bozo, determining whether it will accept the request for "Arrest in Prison" or impose another security measure.
