The Albanian women's national team achieved the greatest success in its history tonight, securing qualification for the play-off stage of the "Brazil 2027" World Cup for the first time. The convincing 5-2 victory over Montenegro represents much more than three points in the standings, as it seals a historic achievement for women's football in Albania.
This result is the culmination of a journey built on the dedication, sacrifices and faith of a group of athletes who have shown character and competitive spirit in every match. With this success, Albania not only secures participation in the World Cup play-offs, but also confirms its position in League B, continuing to be part of an important level of European football.
The red and black team also recorded another record, accumulating seven points in League B groups for the first time. An achievement that proves the team's continued progress and the development of girls' football in the country.
Under the leadership of coach Armir Grima and the technical staff, as well as with the support of the Albanian Football Federation, which has been investing in the growth of girls' football for years, the National Team has written a golden chapter not only for this sport, but for all of Albanian football.
Albania's journey will continue in League B in future UEFA competitions. Meanwhile, on June 18, the red and black girls will learn their opponent in the first round of the play-off phase of the "Brazil 2027" World Cup, keeping the dream of another historic achievement in the international arena alive.
