At the 12th protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, an Albanian immigrant from Vlora, a former police officer, was among the speakers. He gave a strong message, declaring that they will not only sacrifice, but also increase their numbers.
After recounting his personal story of suffering, the citizen said that the protesters will set off on foot from Vlora to Tirana and that they will not give up until the government is overthrown, even if it means giving up their lives.
The former officer added that the year 1997 should not be repeated and that protests should not be abandoned. He made serious accusations against the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, and stated that 29 years ago he was threatened for organizing protests, injuring his parents, an act that forced him to emigrate.
"31 years ago I headed the Protest Committee in Vlora, we were raped by Berishe supporters. Then the expulsions, the persecutions began, my parents injured me with grenades and TNT. We left with our little son towards the Adriatic, they expelled us even though I was a police officer. After raising our children there, with the love for the Albanian language, after 29 years we are in the same situation, where there are protests all over the country. '97 should not be repeated, let's not give up the protest, if we love our children. Let me be the first hero, let them kill me ", he said among other things.
He then went on to talk about the organizations in the coastal city to join this protest. The former officer appealed not to surrender and not to submit to criminal politicians, neither Rama nor Berisha.
"We have started talks with our friends so that the river will flow from Vlora to Tirana, we will come on foot, either we will reach our goal or we will lie dead. He is not a man, he has no religion, he is a coward, those who are behind him should not become traitors, do not confront the Albanians, do not become our opponents because you will find trouble. The patronage workers, the police should join us, throw their hats in the square like I did in '97", declared the former officer.
