The Saudi Arabian government has decided to reward its footballers after their historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
According to the decision made public by the Minister of Sports, Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, each player and member of the technical staff will receive 5 million Saudi riyals, which translates to around 1.15 million euros.
Saudi Arabia secured qualification for the World Cup after a goalless draw against Iraq, a result that was enough to successfully conclude the final stage of the Asian qualifiers.
Minister Al-Faisal confirmed that the awards will be given within 30 days of the completion of the qualifications, emphasizing that this is a motivation to represent the country worthily in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Saudi team has already begun preparations for the final stage of the tournament, with the aim of passing the group and repeating the success of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they also defeated champions Argentina.
