Marash Kumbulla has returned to Roma after a loan spell at Espanyol. He will be assessed by Gian Piero Gasperini before a decision is made on his future. According to what is reported by “Tuttomercatoweb”, the former Atalanta coach seems keen to keep the Albanian defender and give him confidence during a season where the Yellows will be engaged on several fronts, including the Europa League.
However, the Spaniards are very satisfied with the performances of the player born in 2000 and would like to have him back in the team, also for next season. The problem lies in the fact that the Catalan club does not have the financial resources to buy his card permanently, so they would prefer a different solution, such as another loan, perhaps with the inclusion of a purchase option.
The Italian capital, however, does not see this possibility with a positive light. For this reason, it seems difficult for him to play again in La Liga in the 2025-2026 season. In his career, the 25-year-old has accumulated 68 matches and 4 goals with Roma, 36 matches and 3 goals with Espanyol, 28 appearances and 1 goal with Verona and 7 matches with Sassuolo. To these are added 23 matches with the Albanian national team.
