The 2026 World Cup, the first tournament in history to feature 48 national teams, has begun the countdown to the grand finale that will take place at MetLife Stadium. In addition to the on-field rivalry, the financial benefits of the coaches leading the participating teams are also attracting attention.

According to data published by "Calcio&Finanza", the highest paid coach of the World Cup is Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian coach, who recently took charge of Brazil, benefits from 10 million euros per year after a new agreement with the Brazilian Football Federation. Ancelotti will have as his objective the return of the "Selecao" to the world title, a trophy that has been missing since 2002.

In second place is England coach Thomas Tuchel. The German was earning around €5.8 million per year before his latest contract renewal, while the terms of the new deal have not been made public but are believed to be more financially favorable.

The podium is completed by the United States coach, Mauricio Pochettino, with a salary of 5 million euros net per season.

The list of the highest-paid coaches also includes Germany's Julian Nagelsmann with 4.9 million euros, Portugal's Roberto Martinez with 4 million euros and France's Didier Deschamps with 3.8 million euros per year.

Mauricio Pochettino (USA) – 5 million euros

What is striking in this ranking is the absence of coaches from the last two major world football champions. Neither Spain's Luis de la Fuente nor Argentina's Lionel Scaloni appear on the list of the highest-paid coaches for the 2026 World Cup.
