Sean "Diddy" Combs is expected to be released early from federal prison after his sentence was reduced again, according to recent reports from American media.
The famous rapper and producer, 56 years old, is now expected to be released from prison on February 23, 2028. His release date has undergone several changes since the announcement of the sentence.
Combs was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of transporting persons for the purpose of prostitution. His release was initially scheduled for May 2028, but was later pushed back to June of that year due to reported violations of rules within the correctional facility.
However, in recent months he has received several reductions in his sentence. According to reports, this may be related to his commitment to a rehabilitation program for substance abuse. His representatives have stated that Combs is seriously involved in the process of rehabilitation and personal development.
Meanwhile, the legal battle continues. His defense team has appealed the court's decision, demanding his immediate release or a new trial.
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and faced a number of charges, including criminal conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting persons for the purpose of prostitution. After a lengthy trial, he was found not guilty of some of the more serious charges, but convicted of two of them.
The case is still in appeal proceedings, while federal authorities have requested that his request be dismissed.
