Albin Kurti and Lumir Abdixhiku, respectively the leader of VV and LDK, held their first meeting, within the framework of a negotiation process initiated to avoid a new political crisis in Kosovo, due to the process of electing the President. Abdixhiku said that in the meeting with Kurti, a solution was discussed, while he said that it is not acceptable for the President to belong to the same party as the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly.
"No, we have not discussed specific names yet. The process has started, there are two names of LVV in the process, while LDK has a clear position that not all positions can belong to one political party. We are trying to find a common, consensual solution, with meetings and we will follow this path whenever we can to avoid elections," said Abdixhiku. He added that the parties should first determine the principles of the process, then discuss specific names.
"We are trying to find a solution. While we are in meetings, we are making efforts. If we do nothing in the next three weeks, elections are inevitable," Abdixhiku added.
