According to Iran International, the masked man was not Mojtaba Khamenei, but Mohammad Javad Khamenei, the eldest grandson of Ali Khamenei.

A masked man was seen during the funeral of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, sparking speculation that he could be his successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, who is rumored to be the country's new supreme leader.

The man appeared in the front row of the funeral ceremony, helping with religious rites. He wore a baseball cap and a black mask covering his face, which caused the images to circulate rapidly on social media and sparked many insinuations.

However, according to Iran International, the masked man was not Mojtaba Khamenei, but Mohammad Javad Khamenei, the eldest nephew of Ali Khamenei.

The report states that Javad Khamenei suffered severe burns to his face during the February 28 US and Israeli airstrikes that killed Ali Khamenei. According to reports, Mojtaba Khamenei was also seriously injured and disfigured during the same attack.

Mohammad Javad Khamenei is the son of Mostafa Khamenei, the eldest son of Ali Khamenei, and is considered part of the new generation of the Iranian leader's family.

Ali Khamenei was buried on Thursday after a six-day funeral ceremony, which, according to Iranian state media, gathered up to 43 million participants across the country.

Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khamenei published a message on the Telegram platform on Saturday, vowing to avenge his father's assassination, suggesting that tensions in the region remain high.
