The Kosovo Specialist Chambers have confirmed that, for the time being, the July 20 deadline for the announcement of the verdict in the trial against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) remains in effect.
In an official response to the media, the Court announced that the procedure is continuing according to the deadlines set by the last decision of the Trial Panel, adopted on May 5, 2026.
However, the Specialist Chambers clarify that the possibility of a further extension of the deadline is not excluded, should such a measure be considered necessary.
"Should a further extension be deemed absolutely necessary, the Trial Panel would issue a corresponding order in due course," the official statement from the KSC states.
The verdict against the former KLA leaders is considered one of the most important decisions of the Specialist Chambers, due to its impact on Kosovo and the region. The decision is awaited with great interest by the public, while the court has announced that any possible change of the deadline will be officially communicated through a separate decision.
