The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has reiterated his position that talks with political parties on the establishment of new institutions will begin immediately after the certification of the results of the June 7 elections.
According to Kurti, the process should follow a clear order, starting initially with the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the new government, and then with the election of the president.
"As soon as the election results are certified, we will begin work and discussions on the formation of new institutions. The constitution of the 11th legislature of the assembly, the formation of the new government and the election of the president," Kurti said.
Speaking at the meeting of the acting government, he also focused on the June 7 elections, which he said were not necessary, while adding that their results should be respected and reflected in the creation of functional institutions.
"I congratulate the citizens on the free, democratic electoral process. Kosovo did not need these elections and this result proves what we have said and repeated before they took place. In any case, the citizens spoke clearly again. The result must be accepted and respected and the will of the people must be implemented and translated into functional democratic institutions committed and dedicated to development and welfare, education and health, security and defense, industry and production, major infrastructure investments," Kurti said.
In the June 7 elections, the Vetëvendosje Movement once again ranked as the first political force in the country, securing 47.13 percent of the votes.
