Peace Board, Kosovo ready to send troops to Gaza; Parliament approval awaited

Kosovo with its army is ready to participate in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza and help the people of Gaza. This was stated by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, emphasizing that at the end of January 2025 we allocated 500 thousand euros for humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people in Gaza.

"Today, on the agenda, we have the proposal-decision from the Ministry of Defense to request from the Assembly of the Republic to make a decision to send the Kosovo Security Force on a mission in Gaza as part of the International Stabilization Force," Kurti said.

He further emphasized that last year, Minister Ejup Maqedonci and the Commander of the Kosovo Army, Bashkim Jashari, requested permission to participate in a conference in Doha, Qatar, regarding the International Stabilization Force.

"As the name itself suggests, it aims to stabilize the security environment in Gaza. The KSF has established an international reputation in terms of search and rescue, demining, and more. We are ready to participate in the International Stabilization Force and help the people of Gaza, also because we ourselves have been and are beneficiaries of the International Forces since 1999," Kurti said.

This decision is now expected to be approved by the Kosovo Parliament.
