The Kosovo national team will play against Turkey on Tuesday evening in what could be considered the match of a lifetime, as the historic qualification for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico is at stake.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo visited the team led by Franco Foda on Sunday to encourage them in this big match against Vincenzo Montella's team. In this meeting, Kurti told the players and technical staff of the Dardanelles that this is the opportunity for Kosovo and its history of resilience and talent to appear in the eyes of the whole world. He added that behind this team is not only a state, but an entire nation, there are fans in the stadium, there are family members, there are citizens in every residence, village and city and there are all Albanians everywhere in the world.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo then, through a post on social media, thanked the national team for such success and encouraged the players to have confidence in themselves.
'Qualifying for the World Cup is an extraordinary step for Kosovo as a country. 6 consecutive matches without defeat on the road to qualification. Tuesday's final is more than deserved. Our boys have worked hard, stayed united and played with heart in every match, at home and abroad.
"Turkey is a good team. But they also have a very strong opponent. This was the energy I saw tonight during the meeting with our representative. The confidence is there. Believe in yourself, just as each of us believes in each of you. Go out on the field and do what you know how to do best, play with your heart for Kosovo," Albin Kurti wrote in his post.
