US soldiers from the Florida National Guard have been conducting regular patrols along the Kosovo border. KFOR has released footage from the patrol, emphasizing that the mission continues to ensure a safe environment for all citizens in Kosovo.
"KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, to contribute to a secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner."
"KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security responders," the announcement states.
The footage was released at a time when ideas and discussions were being floated about a reduction in US troops in Kosovo. This idea has also drawn the reaction of US congressmen and senators, both Republican and Democratic, who have appealed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio not to take such a step regarding the withdrawal or reduction of US troops.
