Vetëvendosje Movement MP Agim Bahtiri has addressed an open letter to the Jashari family, requesting that one of its members be considered as a candidate for President of Kosovo.
This request comes after Murat Jashari had previously opposed the use of the family name in political developments and had requested that it not be included in such debates.
In his letter, Bahtiri presents the Jashari family as a symbol of resilience and moral authority, emphasizing that the country needs a figure who can overcome political divisions and ensure the functioning of institutions. He warns of institutional consequences with the end of the President's mandate on April 4, linking this moment to the risk of political deadlock.
The MP also mentions other challenges, such as diplomatic isolation, economic insecurity, and youth emigration, while describing the political scene as fragmented and focused on narrow interests.
In conclusion, he asks the Jashari family to consider this role, presenting it as an opportunity to create a representative figure who would influence the unification of the country and the functioning of institutions.
