A serious road accident occurred this Monday morning on the Lushnje-Rrogozhina highway, near the village of Zham Sektor, where an off-road vehicle hit a 75-year-old woman.
According to preliminary information, 75-year-old Bajame Ramazani was trying to cross the highway to go towards agricultural lands. She had crossed the traffic divider, about 50 meters from the overpass, when she was hit by a vehicle traveling on the road.
As a result of the violent collision, the elderly woman suffered serious injuries and was urgently transported to Lushnja Hospital. Doctors say she is in critical condition and is being treated in the intensive care unit.
Traffic Police officers immediately arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. The driver of the SUV was escorted by police, while work is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
