A serious road accident was recorded this Sunday afternoon on the Gjirokastër-Tepelena national axis, near the Viroi turn, where a motorcycle collided with a heavy tonnage vehicle.
According to preliminary data, the motorcyclist is suspected of entering the lane where the truck was traveling, causing a violent collision between the two vehicles.
Due to the strong impact, the motorcycle driver suffered very serious injuries. Sources from the scene indicate that he lost his left leg as a result of the accident and was urgently transported to the hospital to receive the necessary medical attention.
Immediately after the accident, emergency teams and Traffic Police services arrived at the scene, secured the area and launched investigative actions to determine the full dynamics of the event.
It is initially suspected that the accident occurred after the motorcycle veered into the lane of the truck, but investigations will determine the full causes and responsibilities.
