Since the start of the parliamentary session, the last for this legislation, the opposition has raised its voice about the fire in the Elbasan landfill, which, due to the burning of waste hills, has endangered the lives of residents after releasing toxic smoke.
Following Democratic legislator Zheni Gjergji, was her colleague Jorida Tabaku, who demanded accountability from the Assembly, the Minister of Finance, and the involved instances, regarding the incinerators that are not functioning, as well as the payments that continue to be made from Albanian taxpayers' money.
"I request a parliamentary debate on what happened in Elbasan. It is necessary that the investigation into the 430 million euro corruption of incinerators continues, given that the issue is not closed. None of the incinerators are working and the Assembly must be held accountable, the Minister of Finance must account for why he continues to pay money for the incinerators. If the Assembly does not discuss this, what will it discuss? We join Gjergji's request to have a parliamentary debate on this issue," said Tabaku.
