On May 11, Çaushi was one of the names that received the mandate from the ranks of the SP with a small difference of votes with Bardho. With the opening of the boxes in Fier, after the veto of two KAS members, the only change that the recount produced, even though it was expected that the 'Albania Becomes Initiative' would receive a mandate, taking it away from the SP, was the displacement of the names on the SP list, from Çaushi to Bardho...
Zegjine Çaushi, who became known for her harassing videos against Gazment Bardhi during the May 11 campaign, seems to be part of Parliament again, even though she lost her advantage in votes to the other candidate Maldrita Bardhi in the recount.
And while the latter, with only a 10-vote difference, took Çaushi's place in the ranking of the candidate list, it seems that a few hours later Bardho, a pharmacy graduate, chose not to accept the mandate.
And in this way, fate smiles on Çaush again.
Everything that could have happened in these afternoon hours could be nothing more or less than a bargain within the ranks of the socialists.
On May 11, Çaushi was one of the names that received the mandate from the ranks of the SP with a small difference of votes with Bardho. With the opening of the boxes in Fier, after the veto of two KAS members, the only change that the recount produced, even though it was expected that the 'Albania Becomes Initiative' would receive a mandate, taking it away from the SP, was the shift of names on the SP list, from Çaushi to Bardho.
And while the latter was expected to be part of the new Parliament, in the evening hours she announced that she would not accept the mandate. Perhaps this is related to the order given by Edi Rama, when the first SP candidates after May 11 raised allegations of manipulation of preferential votes, but a few hours later they withdrew. But perhaps it could also be a political bargain in the second largest district in the country, where for the first time the Socialists led by Belinda Balluku as Political Leader broke Gramoz Ruçi's records, taking a full 12 mandates out of a possible 16.
"I will gladly leave my seat to my colleague and friend, Zegjine Çaushi, Zegjine who has probably fought more for the team than for herself this campaign, being the target of undeserved attacks from old politics, from the politics of filth that is afraid of new voices, Zegjine from whom I am only 10 votes away today and who undoubtedly deserves to be in the Assembly hall, to represent the youth, especially girls," Bardho wrote in a reaction on social media.
Post by Maldrita Bardho
After carefully following the recount of votes for the Fier region, I feel happy and honored that my long contribution to the Socialist Party has been appreciated by my fellow citizens and they have considered me worthy of representing them in the Albanian parliament.
However, I have made an important decision, which I would like to share with everyone, a decision that I made before the recount began and which was finally reinforced for me today.
I will continue to contribute to the Socialist Party and to Lushnje, with all my abilities, but without being part of the Albanian parliament.
I will gladly leave my seat to my colleague and friend, Zegjine Çaushi, a Zegjine who has perhaps fought more for the team than for herself this campaign, putting herself at the target of undeserved attacks from old politics, from the politics of filth that is afraid of new voices, a Zegjine from whom I am only 10 votes away today and who undoubtedly deserves to be in the Assembly hall, to represent the youth, especially girls.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I will be there for all of you who voted for me, with the same enthusiasm and strength that only we socialists have!
