The AKU is the biggest concern of entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector, but it is also a concern for restaurants, cafes and retail outlets. It does more harm than good. The Ministry of Agriculture should issue an order to suspend the AKU completely, they should no longer come out and operate anywhere.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today the suspension of the AKU's activity. During the meeting in Elbasan, speaking about food controls, Rama said that the AKU does more harm than it fixes things. In this context, he announced the suspension of the AKU's activity.
"The activity of the AKU should be suspended, the Minister of Agriculture should issue the order," Rama said. Rama's statement comes at a time when there has been a series of scandals in the food sector, especially regarding food safety.
The Prime Minister emphasized that a special commission should be established that will evaluate the human resources of the NFA.
This is the first meeting that Rama holds with deputies, cabinet members and local socialist elected officials, after the May 11 elections, where he took office for the 4th consecutive term as Prime Minister, while announcing the dissolution of an institution.
It is not known what will happen next, that is, will there be an AKU or not, but what Rama announced today was the suspension of the activity of this institution, and this is happening at the height of the summer season, when there should be increased attention due to high temperatures, towards any product or entity that trades high-risk food goods.
During the meeting on agriculture, Rama requested the engagement of Tax structures to carry out a preliminary awareness process to begin seizing all uninvoiced milk.
In this context, Rama said that we can no longer allow the trading of uninvoiced products that could bring catastrophic consequences for citizens.
"This belongs to the Ministry of Finance and businesses need to be made aware, to be allies of the government and the state, and to understand that informality does not extend to health."
The activities of the NFA should be banned, because it does more harm than good.
The NFA should be suspended and a special commission should be established to analyze all the human resources of the NFA and the unification of those sectors currently established by law, it should go through a process of selecting human resources that will be inspected and here the Agricultural University of Tirana should also be part of the commission to make a serious assessment of human resources.
"The AKU is the biggest concern of entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector, but it is also a concern for restaurants, cafes and retail outlets. It does more harm than good. The Ministry of Agriculture should issue an order to suspend the AKU completely, they should no longer go out and operate anywhere," said Rama.
He further requested that Municipalities, in cooperation with the Cadastre, locate production structures in rural areas.
We must take it on and we must forward it to the structures so that within August we can forward all the procedures for legalization to the Cadastral Agency and I do not believe that farmers should wait to legalize their production structures from the stables”, he said.
Rama requested that an order be issued to suspend the activities of the AKU, as it does more harm than good.
