"Nationally, 55,519 are invalid votes. If we add up the number of valid votes with the invalid ones, then it matches 100% with the number of ballots found in the boxes. There is no logical contradiction. There are only 9 irregular boxes that resulted from the evaluation process, 7 were declared irregular at the moment of delivery and 2 were considered such after receiving the boxes for delivery. There are 1,666 invalid votes in boxes from the diaspora," he said.
Further, focusing on the irregularities regarding diaspora votes, he said that "some voters from abroad did not submit Envelope B, but only Envelope A."
Meanwhile, we emphasize that the Opportunity Party is secure in the 2 mandates it has won in Tirana, but it is now the Democratic Party that is risking 1 mandate in the Lezha district.
Regarding diaspora votes, he said that so far 159,921 votes are valid, while 1,666 votes are invalid.
"Out of 1,462,352 ballot papers found in the boxes, 1,460,833 are valid votes and 55,519 are invalid. There are only 9 irregular boxes that resulted from the evaluation process, 7 of which were declared as such at the moment of delivery, while 2 were contested as such by the CEAZ after receiving the boxes in delivery," said Celibashi.
The Socialist Party, according to data reflected on the official website of the Central Election Commission, leads by a wide margin in terms of mandates, securing 83 seats in Parliament, while the Democratic Party has experienced a "shrinkage" in recent moments, going down to 50 mandates.
In the two largest districts in the country, the SP and the Opportunity Party have taken two mandates from the DP, leaving the DP-ASHM Coalition with 50 mandates, while Agron Shehaj's party has increased by one mandate.
