Democratic Party member of the Tirana Municipal Council, Ilda Zhulali, said that the opposition was in favor of Erion Veliaj's presence at today's meeting, to be heard shortly before his dismissal.
Zhulali stressed that the rejection of his request was unilateral, with only the votes of the Socialist Party. She also said that today Veliaj will be dismissed by order of Rama.
Zhulali also added that this is a financial damage to the citizens of Tirana, as we will have to compensate Veliaj for his unjust removal.
"Veliaj must participate in the Municipal Council meeting. He has made a request to participate. Mr. Veliaj's request has never reached the Municipal Council, but we have become familiar with it through the media. So it will be a one-sided vote. This could serve Veliaj tomorrow to use in court.
This is a financial damage to the citizens of Tirana, as we will have to compensate Mr. Veliaj for his unjust dismissal (by not respecting the law). He has a duty to express himself in the Municipal Council, but also to hear why his dismissal is delayed. Today is a day that crowns an action, such as dismissal. We have denounced the phantom incinerator of Tirana. It has brought great financial damage to the citizens of Tirana. Veliaj has not only caused financial damage, but has also left us with an environmental crime. Veliaj will be dismissed by order of Rama" , Zhulali said for "News 24".
