Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued his "spikes" against justice. He has revealed that the Albanian state has been found guilty by the Court of Appeal, forcing it to pay 500 thousand euros for a car accident that occurred eight years ago, despite the fact that there were neither victims nor injuries in the incident.
The statement was made during the Socialist Party's victory speech, where Rama briefly focused on the judicial system and the challenges it poses for the state and citizens.
" The state has been asked to pay 500 thousand euros for a car crash, where there were neither deaths nor injuries. The decision was made within one day. We cannot provide justice for many Albanians who are seeking justice, and we cannot correct the mistakes that occur in courtrooms for the state," said Rama.
The Prime Minister described this case as one of the examples of unexpected decisions that can be produced by a justice system that functions independently, without political interference. He emphasized that the government has no influence over the judiciary and does not control the fate of anyone behind the doors of the justice system.
However, Rama stressed that the government will continue to lead by example, respecting the law and being a shield for the independence of justice institutions.
"It is in our hands to be as fair as possible and to be an unbreakable shield of the independence of justice institutions, starting with SPAK, which we will continue to support unequivocally ," Rama said.
