Citizens marched towards the Prime Minister's Office with calls against the government, but also with strong messages towards the opposition. Protesters demanded that the movement not be used by political parties.
"Rama out, Berisha out" was one of the calls that dominated today's protest in Tirana, where citizens gathered for the tenth consecutive day to express their dissatisfaction with the entire political class.
With messages like "The Homeland is Ours", "The Homeland is Not for Sale" and "New Albania", "You have come to the end", the protesters marched towards the Prime Minister's Office demanding political change and the removal of the government.
The protesters also demanded the establishment of a transitional government as a solution to the political crisis in the country. According to them, the removal of the current political class and the organization of elections by a caretaker government constitute the main condition for real change and the restoration of citizens' trust in institutions.
During the march, chants such as "Edi Rama, you traitor, resign as soon as possible" were also heard , while protesters demanded the government's resignation and profound political changes in the country.
But unlike the first days of the protest, today's rally also included direct messages to the opposition. Some of the participants accused political figures of trying to take advantage of the civic movement and demanded that the protest remain independent of parties.
"Hands off the protest," "Don't use our cause for politics," and "This is a civic protest," were some of the messages articulated during the rally.
Speeches delivered to the protesters accused opposition representatives of trying to influence the movement. One speaker stated that the protest was organized out of citizens' concerns and not political interests, adding that "politicians are panicking."
Meanwhile, organizers continue to insist that the movement arose as a reaction to the planned investment in Zvërnec, but is now also serving as a platform to articulate broader dissatisfaction related to the economy, immigration, corruption, and political representation.
Today's protest took place in parallel with rallies in Lezha, Fushë Krujë and Lushnje, where citizens expressed similar stances against the government and the political situation in the country.
As of 6:00 PM, protesters began gathering at "Skënderbej" Square, while around 6:30 PM they marched towards "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard and then towards the Prime Minister's Office, following the usual itinerary of recent days.
With national flags in their hands and anti-government banners, the participants demanded the departure of the current political class, while the organizers called for calm and the avoidance of any provocation during the rally.
"Let's maintain calm, don't provoke, don't stage any scenes. Protect the children, we ask parents to keep their children close during the protest and stay united," declared one of the activists leading the march.
Participants have warned that the protests will continue in the coming days, insisting that the movement must remain civic and independent of any political force.
