According to information provided by university sources, the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Silvana Bara, has submitted an official request to the Rectorate for the dismissal of the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Edit Xhajanka, the former head of this faculty.
The issue has received particular attention due to the previous professional relationship between the two professors. For several years, Ms. Bara was part of the faculty's management team, deputy dean, at a time when the institution was headed by Prof. Dr. Xhajanka, a period that many colleagues consider important for her formation in academic and administrative terms.
Sources close to the university say that disagreements between them have become more visible in recent years, mainly regarding the way various issues related to the functioning and progress of the faculty are being handled. In meetings of the Dean's Office and the Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Xhajanka has often been among the voices that have called for more transparency and institutional response to the issues raised.
According to the same sources, the debates have also reached institutional levels. The former dean's office is reported to have raised concerns with the competent university bodies and sought clarification on a number of issues related to the administration of the faculty and the implementation of the objectives announced by the current leaders.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Xhajanka has continued to address the problems that, according to her, affect the Faculty of Dental Medicine, addressing not only the structures of the University of Medicine, but also the state institutions responsible for higher education.
Known for her contribution to the field of dentistry, Prof. Dr. Xhajanka has led the faculty for two consecutive terms. During this period, international collaborations have been expanded and initiatives have been undertaken aimed at modernizing academic programs and structures.
Sources indicate that the topic was also discussed at the Academic Senate meeting on June 9, where Prof. Dr. Xhajanka was informed about the procedure initiated against her.
