Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the planned project in Zvërnec foresees clear conditions for investors, including the increase in green areas after the completion of the investment.
During a conversation with foreign journalists, Rama said that Albania has significantly increased the area of protected areas over the years, emphasizing that they currently constitute about 25% of the country's territory.
According to him, the project in Zvërnec was conceived in collaboration with architects and landscape experts, with the aim of maintaining the balance between development and nature protection.
"I know, I'm not attractive, I'm not a protester who fills the souls of ideologues in the world with joy about how little Albania is standing up to the oligarchs... We found Albania with less than 15% of protected areas, today we have 25%. The condition for the project is that there is more green space than money. What if I told you that we are working with the best landscape architects? There is a very large team and this project will be another proof that nature and development coexist. Nature cannot be a curse for people's well-being", Rama said.
The Prime Minister added that the project aims to serve as an example of coexistence between economic development and environmental conservation, emphasizing that nature should not be considered an obstacle to the well-being of communities.
