Rama confronts EU journalist about Zvërnec: Challenge me with facts, not

Prime Minister Edi Rama had a tense moment with one of the reporters regarding the protests for Zvërnec, during a conference with European Union journalists.

The debate began after the journalist referred to interviews conducted with citizens on the ground, mentioning that she had talked to several people on the street about this issue. Rama immediately rejected this approach, emphasizing that he could not respond based on perceptions or statements collected on the street, but only on concrete facts.

"You are asking me questions and you are asking me what I think. What you heard on the street is not of interest to me. I am not on the street and I am not someone who is not responsible for what I say," Rama declared.

The Prime Minister stressed that, as a representative of the country, he has the obligation to speak responsibly and rely on verifiable data. He challenged the journalist to present concrete evidence if she had arguments that contradicted his statements.

"I represent this country and the people who elected me. In front of you I have to be truthful and give facts. I cannot be challenged with what you have heard on the street. Do you have facts that show that what I am saying is not right? Show me, challenge me," Rama said.
