Today's plenary session began with a debate between MP Redi Muçi and the head of the SP Parliamentary Group Taulant Balla.
From the Parliament's rostrum, Muçi declared that no joint resolution can be signed in Strasbourg without taking into account the demands of the protesters, while also making a direct appeal to Taulant Balla. Muçi accused Balla of mocking the protesters, while reminding him that he is facing the Albanian youth.
"I address a final appeal to Taulant, who every day takes photos of the 7 o'clock protest and mocks the protesters. Be careful that you are not facing Saliu, but the Albanian youth. Continue with your naivety. I am returning it to you with the words of Victor Hugo. 'Milord, I am telling you that I am the people. Today you are oppressing and mocking me, but it is enough for the ice to crack and everything will end. Tremble, milord,'" said Muçi.
In response, Taulant Balla opposed the MP's statements, saying that he has no right to speak on behalf of the people and that his posts on social media were not intended to mock the protesters, but, according to him, reflect developments in the protest.
"First, you have no right, neither political nor moral, to speak on behalf of the people because at least in this hall on behalf of the people there is a certain majority from the vote of a year ago, while you are simply and only accidentally after you came because of the resignation of another MP, you came like a thief. I am not making fun of the protest, the protest was beautiful when it started.
