
United States President Donald Trump has issued a new ultimatum to Iran, giving Tehran until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow to take action, while warning that otherwise it will face serious consequences.
During a statement to the media, Trump said that the US administration is continuing diplomatic efforts, but stressed that time is running out for Iran.
"They have until tomorrow at 08:00. We'll see what happens. We're negotiating in good faith. After 08:00, they won't have bridges, stations," the American president said.
Trump also stressed that the US will not allow Iran to develop or possess nuclear weapons, warning that further escalation of the conflict would have devastating consequences.
"There will be total destruction, although I wouldn't want to do that. It will take them 100 years to rebuild their country ," he declared.
The US president also touched on the situation in the region, claiming that "the US is a winner" while "Iran has lost." He also added that his administration will impose tariffs on the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with the Western military alliance. "I'm very disappointed with NATO," he said, without giving further explanation for his stance.
