Temperatures have reached their highest levels this year in Albania, while the heat wave that has swept the country has peaked this Monday.
The city of Berat recorded the highest value, with 47 degrees Celsius in the sun and 42 degrees in the shade, while in Tirana the thermometer marked 45 degrees in the sun during the midday hours.
According to meteorologists, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected from Tuesday, but high humidity will cause the feeling of heat to remain almost unchanged.
A more significant cooling of the weather is expected to begin on Friday, when temperatures will drop and heavy rain is also forecast in some areas of the country.
However, this improvement will not last. According to forecasts, after this short break, Albania will be engulfed again by another African heat wave, bringing back high temperatures throughout the territory.
