Ralf Rangnick will continue to coach the Austrian national team for the next two years. The Austrian Football Association has officially extended the German coach's contract until 2028, ending any speculation linking him with a move to Serie A, including reported interest from Milan.
The news, announced for days by the sports media, was officially confirmed by the Austrian federation, which emphasized that the new agreement guarantees the continuity of the project launched by Rangnick at the head of the national team.
" The decision has been made: coach Ralf Rangnick will continue his successful career with the Austrian national team and will remain part of the Federation at least until the 2028 UEFA European Championship."
The contract renewal comes after several months of intensive and confidential discussions. Both Ralf Rangnik and Josef Proll have repeatedly emphasized during this period that the cooperation and communication have been characterized by mutual respect, a clear understanding and the will to sustainably continue the positive development of the national team.
