The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of organizing an "anti-rally" in Vlora, at the same time as the protests announced by the opposition regarding the Zvërnec issue.
During his speech in the Assembly, Berisha claimed that the majority had asked public administration employees in the south of the country to participate in a rally in Vlora, with the aim, according to him, of disrupting and weakening the civic protest.
The leader of the Democrats called the use of the administration in political activities unacceptable and accused the government of trying to create division among citizens.
Berisha also claimed that messages were sent to administration employees in the south of the country to participate in the planned activity in Vlora, while calling for it to be canceled.
During his speech, the opposition leader also condemned the police intervention during the protest held the previous day in Tirana, describing the use of force against protesters as unacceptable.
"I denounce with the greatest force the decision of the head of Meduza, the head of the criminal organization, to organize tomorrow in Vlora the shameful anti-rally of history. I warn you that your anti-rallys will not be tolerated, they will receive the response that you will be sorry for. Is there a more shameful act to take the employees and go to an anti-rally against the citizen protest. Is there a more divisive act? Give up, cancel it. You have sent a message to all the employees of the entire South, just like Ramiz Alia who wanted to declare the Republic of Vlora with Enver's volunteers. Now they are Edit's volunteers. I also condemn the violence against citizens in protest. The practice of anti-rallys is fascist, Stalinist. I have published the messages that you have sent to the administration", said Berisha.
