On the 23rd day of the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, participants demanded investigations into the Prime Minister and accountability from the institutions.
The citizens' protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office continued today, as participants repeated calls for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and demanded action from justice institutions.
During the speech given to the protesters, one of the participants stated that citizens have an obligation to hold them accountable when they lose trust in institutions and when, according to him, young people see emigration as the only path to a better life.
" When a government forgets that power comes from the people and not from privilege, when citizens lose trust in institutions, when young people see emigration as the only hope for a better life, then it is the duty of every citizen to demand accountability and change. Rama go! Rama go! Rama go !" said the protester, while the call was accompanied by the crowd with the slogan "Rama go!".
Further, he addressed the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime, requesting investigations against the prime minister and his associates.
" We hear every day allegations of pressure, intimidation and influence on justice institutions. Please SPAK, do your duty. Investigate the prime minister, his entire circle. Please SPAK, conduct an investigation into the prime minister, his wealth and everything that is going on ," he said.
In his speech, the protester also spoke about what he described as a lack of reaction from international factors.
" We also see a silence that often seems incomprehensible to us from international factors that preach democracy ," he said.
The protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office continues for the 23rd consecutive day, while organizers have warned that the rallies will continue in the coming days.
