The MPs have been engaged in debates among themselves regarding the protest for Zvërnec, where for 4 days on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, citizens organized through social networks have been opposing the construction of a luxury resort, while calling for Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign.
Protesters occasionally chant "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison," which has led to clashes with opposition lawmakers.
One of the debates during today's session was between Democratic MP Gent Strazimiri and Lëvizja Bashkë MP Redi Mucci. Lëvizja Bashkë is one of the forces supporting the civic protest, while there have been hints that it may be the organizer of the protests.
"Communist, Marxist-Leninist", were the labels that Strazimir has thrown at Mucci
"Now two words for all lovers of flamingos and curly-bellied pelicans. You, Lenin... can't feel sorry for curly-bellied pelicans and flamingos on the day when they have raised funds for therapy to change the sex of our children."
With our taxes, that they feel so sorry for you. That square that you have there is full, 60-70% of you are Democrats. 'Rama and Berisha equally in prison', you brought out a banner yesterday and you brought several hundred of them to the DP. Little Marxist-Leninists...
"Mars has an unpaid bill. You, little communist, out of time, blind or what are you who keep saying Marx and Lenin? It's better if you pay it, let them come and pay it. If you want to open this game, we will open it, but it's not convenient for you. The only thing you did by bringing people there is that you removed three quarters of the square, because it is not a political protest, but a civic one. Be careful next time, even with jokes, even with everything, speak because I will answer you again", said Strazimir.
On the other hand, Muçi responded that the young people who are protesting do not know Marx, but Berisha and Rama, so the protest is against them.
"Since it often happens here that both sides refer to me and the Joint Movement as Marxists and Leninists, I want to tell you that those young people who are protesting in that square do not know Marx. Those who have seen Sali Berisha since they opened their eyes, have known Edi Rama since they started walking. Those young men and women are protesting against you, against the damage you have done to this country, against the destruction. Come out and give an account! You can continue endlessly with out-of-color jokes. You must take responsibility for what you have done for 35 years and you have a face and are addressing us!", said Muçi.
