Prime Minister Edi Rama is expected to appoint a host of names, part of the Socialist Party structures, to the positions of deputy ministers. For each Ministry, the minister will be accompanied by a deputy minister who will be part of the Socialist Party structures and will play the role of a coordinator between the minister, the parliamentary group or the deputies, regarding the concerns or problems they have in the areas they cover. In short, it seems that Rama, who has been facing protests for 22 days demanding his resignation, is strengthening the connection between the Government and the party structures, to then extend it to the community.
According to Report TV, the decision to appoint the deputy ministers was made at the meeting of the Parliamentary Group on Saturday. It is learned that the Group was informed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, while the political leaders in the regions expressed their concern to the latter.
And it seems that the appointment of political deputy ministers in a situation when Rama is facing protests, which have created a rift in the parliamentary group, was intended as a strengthening of ministries with political figures, at a time when more than half of the government cabinet is made up of names that have not been part of the structures or connections of the Socialist Party.
The Deputy Ministers will be coordinators, or in other words an open door in the Ministry for the MPs, but not only. The fact that they will be political means that their focus will be precisely on solving the problems that are referred to both by legislators and by party structures.
In this way, it seems that Rama is returning to the old scheme, while in almost all of his terms as Prime Minister, he has completely bypassed party structures, imposing new or not names on them, but which were not considered part of the SP.
