The Assembly has upheld the decision to exclude Agron Shehaj from plenary sessions for 30 days.
This decision came after Shehaj, during a debate, called the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, "a fool."
During the session, the leader of the "Mundësia" Party also clashed with the deputy leader Klodiana Spahiu.
What happened in the Assembly during the June 11 session?
Minister Malaj raised charges against Shehaj for issues related to his activity, demanding public explanations on the transfer of profits and connections with companies registered abroad.
On the other hand, Shehaj responded to Minister Malaj with harsh and insulting language. After several warnings, Shehaj was expelled from the plenary session.
Excerpts from the debate:
Minister Malaj: I want you to declare to the Albanians how, with your companies, you have chosen not to declare the way you transfer your profits outside this country and are you ready to pay the fine and not provide the information requested by the Tax Administration?
I want you to come here and tell all Albanians what your connection, that of your wife and your brother, is with 17 companies opened outside of Albania?
"My question was why these 2 companies, linked to your wife and brother, refuse to provide information on how they transfer profits outside this country? The person who exploits Albanians and who pays nothing in this country, has chosen to pay taxes abroad. If you want, I can go through all 17 companies and who is the administrator of these companies registered outside this country."
Shehaj: Like in the communist era, you mess with my family, aren't you ashamed at all? What about a simple citizen, what do you do to him, you masked man? What do you do to him? Tell me? Do you send the police? Do you openly threaten me, how dare you? How dare you, masked man. You are a masked man, you are a masked man, a scoundrel, a thief.
The incident caused tension in the Assembly hall, while the session then continued with the agenda.
