
This afternoon in Brussels, the 5th Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the EU was held, where the opening of negotiations for eight chapters included in Cluster 3: "Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth" was approved.
Present at this conference, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, described this step as a "new cornerstone", emphasizing that the opening of these chapters reflects Albania's merit-based progress and is a clear indicator of the country's achievements in a short time.
" A new milestone was laid with the official opening of Group Chapter 3 – Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth – during the 5th Intergovernmental Conference held in Brussels. The opening of 8 new chapters today reflects Albania's merit-based progress and is a clear indication of how much we have achieved in a very short time ," said Hasani.
Cluster 3 includes eight areas or chapters: Chapter 10 (Digital Transformation and Media), Chapter 16 (Taxation), Chapter 17 (Economic and Monetary Policy), Chapter 19 (Social Policy and Employment), Chapter 20 (Enterprise and Industrial Policy), Chapter 25 (Science and Research), Chapter 26 (Education and Culture), Chapter 29 (Customs Union). Progress in these areas is essential to guarantee Albania's fiscal stability, industrial modernization, increased innovation, improved working conditions and participation in European initiatives in scientific research, education and digitalization.
This new step in the accession negotiations brings Albania closer to realizing its vision of full integration into the EU by 2030, bringing concrete benefits to Albanian citizens in their daily lives.
