After two months of silent blockade, the Albanian Parliament is expected to resume its work with a plenary session on May 29, at 12:00.
The decision was signed by the Speaker of the Assembly, Elisa Spiropali, who has been more active in the media than in the Parliament chamber since taking office. This return comes as the country has already entered the post-election period and with a parliamentary mandate coming to an end.
According to the official announcement, the sessions will continue until July 8, respecting the constitutional limit that prohibits the consideration of new draft laws 60 days before the end of the mandate. This means that the current legislature has only a few weeks to complete its final tasks; otherwise, many decision-making will be left to the new Assembly.
The mandate of the current deputies ends on September 8, the date when the new legislature, resulting from the parliamentary elections of May 11, will be constituted. Until then, the public will remain in anticipation of a more efficient and less ceremonial Assembly.
